Born in Orange, Melissa decided to return to her home town after 10 years away. During this period, Melissa graduated from Sydney University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Applied Science, travelled and worked in the U.K, worked in Occupational Rehabilitation in Tamworth and Dubbo.This gave Melissa a broad range of professional and life experiences and the chance to work with a varied caseload.
Melissa returned to Orange to work at Orange Base hospital, working with children. Melissa worked with children with learning difficulties and handwriting issues. She was extensively involved in the Headstart program, a multidisciplinary screening program for premature children. Melissa also worked with children with disabilities through the Dept of Community Services.
Melissa has recently completed 2 masters units at Sydney University, Handwriting and Written Expression 1 &2. This has lead to Melissa specializing in Handwriting and Fine motor skills for children. Melissa offers school based programs to most schools in Orange and outlying villages including Kinross Wolaroi , Orange Anglican Grammar, Calare Public, Bletchington Public ,Orange Public and Millthorpe Public schools.
As a member of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapy, Melissa is committed to a high standard of practice in excellence in Occupational Therapy.
