Kids Korner Kindergarten
This is a group for children who are in kindergarten at school this year. This group is for students who need some extra work on the foundational skills learnt in kindergarten. Activities include developing a mature tripod pencil grip, learning correct letter and number formations and the correct directionality for letters.
Students are also taught how to write basic text types eg recounts, book reports and descriptions, the use of capital letters, full stops and correct spatial organisation is emphasised.
Fine motor skills are also worked on through strengthening activities and games.

Funky Fingers
This group is for students in Year 1 and 2 this year. Funky Fingers is for students who are still struggling with forming their letters and numbers correctly and are occasionally reversing b’s and d’s. The main emphasis of Funky Fingers is developing early written expression skills, whilst learning the correct seating posture, pencil group, spacing of writing, punctuation, and putting their thoughts in words.
Children between 6-8 years often avoid hand writing as they have difficulty getting their thoughts onto paper. Often poor fine motor skills let them down and they will write the minimal amount required. Funky Fingers encourages them to improve these skills and release their creative minds onto paper.

Write Ready
This is a programme for students in Year 3 to 6 this year and helps children make the transition from foundation writing to foundation cursive. As this group covers all primary aged children the programme is modified to suit what the child is covering at school.
For example, Year 3 we start exit flicks and by Year 6 are looking at speed joins. There is an emphasis of written expression skills, addressing pencil grip, posture, legibility and spatial organisational along the way. Strengthening, fine motor control, speed and dexterity activities are also included in the programme.
