Be ready, ready. Jump! Is a game between two people. So you can invite one of your parents, siblings or friends to do this activity. In the game, both people take turns to be the host of each round. They will put their hands on a table and randomly extend one of their fingers. If two people extend different fingers, the host will win a mark. Otherwise, if two people extend the same finger, the host will have no mark. The game will end if anyone wins with 3 marks first.
In this game, the skill of finger extension is targeted for improvement. As the game goes by, your child will lift up different fingers of the hands. This helps to build up finger muscles and finger flexibility if the fingers extend repeatedly. The game also requires attention from your child to notice which finger is lifted by another player. This activity might be able to improve handicraft making.
Extension: The marks for winning the game can be increased. For example, the marks can change from 3 marks to 5 marks. Therefore, more rounds will be played. It is harder to guess who is the winner of the game. Fingers will be lifted more as an exercise.
Tip: If your child finds it hard to lift a finger of one hand, try to use the thumb and index finger of another hand to help holding the finger tip to lift the finger of one hand.
