Dodgeball Planks offer an enjoyable activity for boosting your child’s motor planning, strengthening their upper body and core and enhancing coordination. This activity provides an excellent opportunity to involve your child in a proprioceptive sensory activity that provides deep pressure to their joints.
Start off by getting your child to lay in a plank position with their forearms placed on the floor . As you roll the ball toward them, encourage your child to lift their hips and buttocks to dodge the ball. For children experiencing limited core strength, it may be good to get a third person to help support their hips. Alternatively, they can keep their knees on the ground and dodge the ball by performing push-ups, which will work on both upper body strength and motor planning.
