Rolling balls is a tool used to practice hand manipulation as well as improve hand and finger strength. To do this activity your child will start by rolling the putting into a sausage, then pinch off a pea-sized amount of theraputty. Using their thumb and the first finger they need to roll the putty into a ball shape. The aim is to try and isolate and concentrate on the movement coming from the tip of the 1st finger. The next step is to roll two balls into a little sausage with your thumb, first and second fingers. Practice this action with both left and right hands. For an extra challenge try rolling the balls in the other 3 fingers.
